The Sports Journalists’ Association wanted to do something different. After years of the traditional black-tie dinner format, they decided to reimagine their annual awards as a proper event — something that felt like an awards ceremony, not just a meal with trophies.

The result was an Oscars-style theatre ceremony at the London Palladium, with presenters from Sky Sports and TNT on stage and some of the most respected names in UK sports media in the audience.

Our job was to make that ambition a reality. We handled the production, stage design, show flow and content delivery — working closely with the organisers to shape an event that moved at pace, looked sharp and felt worthy of the room.

A venue like the London Palladium and an audience of that calibre leaves no margin for anything less than polished. The show ran exactly as it should — tight, professional and full of energy.

The SJA had a fresh new format that outperformed anything they’d done before, without losing an ounce of the event’s credibility or prestige.
